Your Michign barns are all lovely rubies. The classic gambrel roof is so nice, the paint and roofing in wonderful shape - in all seasons!
i wonder about that too, Kim... can't wait to hear from the farmers out there. great views. (:

My guess would be that the chute is for dropping hay out of the mow.
